Brett Contact Sync — privacy
Brett Contact Sync accesses contact names, labeled emails and phone numbers, birthdays, identifiers and version information to compare records and apply approved changes between Brett's selected iCloud and Google Contacts accounts. Google account identity and OAuth credentials authenticate the correct account.
Google reads and private recovery snapshots can also contain biographies/notes, addresses, organizations, URLs and photo references for backup and preservation checks. These fields do not sync. Apple Notes are unavailable to the current helper. The tool does not send birthday emails, sell contact data, or automatically merge or delete contacts.
Google credentials are stored in the Mac's Keychain. Snapshots, pre-change values, mappings and operation journals are stored in owner-private local files. The separate Apple Contacts archive may contain multiple accounts. Application-level backup encryption and complete restore testing are not claimed.
The bridge's contact-service destinations are Google and Apple. Codex-assisted setup or operation is subject to Codex's separate privacy practices. Public informational pages will be hosted by Cloudflare, which processes website requests under its own policies; contact records and credentials are not uploaded to that website.
Recovery files remain until Brett reviews and removes them; there is no automatic retention schedule. To stop access, disable any local sync job, revoke the Google connection and remove the app's macOS Contacts permission. This does not delete backups or cloud contacts. After stopping, identified bridge recovery files and the exported archive can be removed; never delete the live Contacts database. Removing backups reduces recovery options.
